Jeff Roah was born and raised in the Los Angeles area. Growing up, he and his two younger brothers were always playing sports. Their favorite sport was, and still is, baseball. (Jeff loves the Dodgers and Hanshin Tigers.)
For his undergraduate studies, Jeff attended Cal Poly Pomona, where he earned a BA in Political Science. Subsequently, he earned an MBA from Pepperdine University. During most of the 1990’s Jeff was a management consultant in the Los Angeles area (for companies such as PricewaterhouseCoopers and E&Y). However, he was often assigned to projects in other parts of the country, including Baltimore, Seattle, San Francisco, and Phoenix.
In 2000, Jeff moved to Japan. For most of his time in Japan, he worked as an educational consultant. Since 2001, his primary job has been to help Japanese professionals gain admission to leading international MBA and other graduate programs, such as Harvard, Stanford and London Business School. He launched Roah Consulting in 2009.
Jeff been married since 1998 to Keiko. She is from Osaka. They met in Los Angeles in 1997. She was there studying English. They have two daughters, Mari and Erika, who both attend Japanese schools, but they speak English at home.
